Hidden Gems of Governors Island Tour

The tour starts at the Battery Maritime Building 10 South Street, New York, NY 10005.

Please plan to arrive at least 10 minutes early to check-in and get in line for the ferry. You don’t want to miss the boat!

There is a coffee shop and bathrooms inside the Battery Maritime Building (BMB).

How To Get There: By Subway: R, W train to Whitehall Street or 1 train to South Ferry Station

Description

Cette visite guidée à pied sera menée par Mandy Edgecombe, naturaliste de formation et ancienne garde forestière du Service des parcs nationaux ayant travaillé sur Governors Island. Outre la découverte de l'histoire connue de l'île, qui remonte à plus de 400 ans, les participants exploreront ses ressources naturelles, notamment les jardins modernes (2016) et l'habitat qu'ils abritent, admireront les sculptures publiques en plein air disséminées sur l'île et pourront se déplacer à vélo (ou en louer sur place), notre moyen préféré pour découvrir ce parc de 70 hectares !

Remarque : Des oreillettes sont fournies à chaque participant afin que chacun puisse entendre parfaitement le guide, même à distance !

Cette visite se déroule principalement en extérieur.
